Move Equality Forward
From its founding in 1972 to its work today, PFLAG has been uniting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) with families, friends, and allies, and is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy.
PFLAG has 400 chapters and 200,000 supporters crossing multiple generations of American families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
This vast grassroots network is cultivated, resourced, and serviced by PFLAG National, located in Washington, D.C., the National Board of Directors and volunteer Regional Directors.

You don't have to come with questions, but we'd love to hear your story.
You can make a direct donation in honor or memory of a loved one to help us achieve our mission of supporting our local LGBTQIA+ community. We strive to be involved from the moment a child reaches out to their parents, family and/or friends, and we hope to maintain that connection for a lifetime.

Every year, we try to create opportunities for our community to connect in an affirming environment. Our events include our Rainbow Prom for youth, Pride Picnic, and our GSA Bootcamp (for student groups in schools). In addition, we are building our PFLAG Hampton Roads Scholarship to support students as they prepare for their professional life after high school.

Your support means so much for all of these things!
